One man was killed and another was wounded in a shooting Sunday afternoon in the Roseland neighborhood on the Far South Side.

The men were in a vehicle about 1:05 p.m. at 97th and Yale when someone approached and fired shots, according to Chicago Police.

Marcel Javon Spivey Jr., 21, was shot in the head and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1:23 p.m., according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Spivey lived in south suburban Dolton.

A 24-year-old man was shot in the groin and was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition was stabilized. Police said he is a documented gang member.
