A 53-year-old man died early Wednesday after being shot multiple times in west suburban Maywood.

Officers responded at 1:30 a.m. to a report of shots fired in the area of 14th Avenue and Oak Street, according to a statement from Maywood police.

Adekunte M. Adaranijo was found unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds inside his vehicle, authorities said. He was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where he was pronounced dead at 2:04 a.m.

An autopsy on Thursday ruled his death a homicide, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
