A 23-year-old man was shot to death late Saturday in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

About 11:40 p.m., Pier Charvell Minor was sitting in a parked vehicle in the 5200 block of West Chicago. Two males walked up and shot him in the head and chest before running away, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Minor, who lived in the same neighborhood, was pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital at 12:33 a.m. Sunday, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

He was a documented gang member, according to police.

An autopsy Monday found he died of massive internal bleeding; perforation of the aorta and bilateral lungs; caused by multiple gunshot wounds. His death was ruled a homicide.
