Four people were injured, two of them critically, in a six-vehicle crash Monday morning in west suburban Aurora.
The crash happened at 6:43 a.m. at DuPage Parkway and Route 56 when a 2014 Chevrolet Malibu driven east by 22-year-old Terrence L. Rush of Aurora attempted to pass several cars, causing a westbound 2015 Chevrolet Malibu driven by a 60-year-old Naperville man to swerve and sideswipe it, according to Aurora police. The Malibu driven by Rush then collided head-on with a westbound 2015 Nissan Sentra driven by a 37-year-old Romeoville woman.
A westbound 2008 Mazda driven by a 38-year-old Naperville man; a westbound 2000 Honda Odyssey driven by a 33-year-old North Aurora woman; and an eastbound 2002 Dodge Caravan driven by a 32-year-old West Chicago man also collided with the Malibu and the Sentra, police said.
A 22-year-old North Aurora man driving the Malibu; and a 37-year-old Romeoville woman driving the Sentra, were both critically injured in the crash, police said. The driver of the Sentra was airlifted to a suburban hospital, while the driver of the Malibu was taken to an Aurora hospital.
The Naperville woman, who was driving the Mazda; and the 33-year-old North Aurora woman, who was driving the Odyssey, were both treated and released at an Aurora hospital, police said.
