A man was shot Monday night in the West Chatham neighborhood on the South Side.

About 6:22 p.m., the 23-year-old was shot in the back and buttocks while inside a vehicle in the 8600 block of South State Street, Chicago Police said.

He drove himself to St. Bernard Hospital, and was later transferred to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, police said.
