A man was seriously wounded in a shooting Thursday morning in the South Side Chatham neighborhood.

The 20-year-old victim was standing outside in the 8200 block of South Evans about 8:50 a.m. when he was shot in the upper left thigh, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken in serious condition to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.

The shooting of the 33-year-old woman, who was grazed in the head and suffered non life-threatening injuries, was likely sparked by an earlier fight involving staffers in the parking lot, officials said.
