A man was shot and killed Wednesday afternoon in the Lawndale neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

At 2:47 p.m., 19-year-old Jacobie Lee James was in the 3800 block of West Ogden when a black vehicle pulled up, and two people got out from the back and opened fire, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The vehicle then drove away.

James was shot in the head and chest, and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 3:11 p.m., authorities said. He lived in the same neighborhood as the shooting.

The medical examiner’s office initially identified the victim as James L. Jacobie.
