A man was shot and killed Wednesday afternoon in the Lawndale neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

At 2:47 p.m., 19-year-old Jacobie Lee James was in the 3800 block of West Ogden when a black vehicle pulled up, and two people got out from the back and opened fire, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The vehicle then drove away.

James was shot in the head and chest, and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 3:11 p.m., authorities said. He lived in the same neighborhood as the shooting.

The medical examiner’s office initially identified the victim as James L. Jacobie.

Injuries were considered severe for five of the 28 injured. Video of the aftermath showed concertgoers struggling to lift the wreckage off other attendees.
Officers received a report of shots fired in the 3900 block of West Flournoy Street about 1:10 a.m.
The girl was inside a residence in the 12600 block of South Lowe Avenue when she heard gunshots coming from the street.
The male was attacked in the 2100 block of West Randolph Street, police said.
