A 12-year-old girl who was reported missing Sunday afternoon from the Fernwood neighborhood on the Far South Side has been found safe. 

Lashaiyah Williams had last been seen Saturday in the 10200 block of South LaSalle Street, according to a missing person alert from Chicago Police.

Police said Tuesday afternoon that Williams had been found safe, and was reunited with her family.

The man, who apparently took his own life inside the building in the 4100 block of West Chicago Avenue had been the subject of more than 40 calls for service since January 2022, a police department source told the Sun-Times.
