Two men were killed when an SUV crashed into a pole late Thursday in south suburban Robbins.

About 10 p.m., the Ford Explorer was speeding north on Kedzie when it went off the road near 139th Street and slammed into a pole, according to the Cook County sheriff’s office.

The driver and passenger were both dead at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office.

They have since been identified as 29-year-old Andrew Michael Heffelfinger, and 31-year-old Jose M. Camarena, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Both lived in south suburban Posen.

Autopsies Friday found both died of multiple injuries from a motor vehicle striking a fixed object, and their deaths were ruled accidents, according to the medical examiner’s office.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
