2 men shot in Elgin

Two men were shot Monday afternoon in west suburban Elgin.

Officers responded about 3:55 p.m. to the 700 block of Walnut Avenue, where they found the 25 and 28 year old with gunshot wounds, according to a statement from Elgin police.

The older man was taken to Sherman Hospital in Elgin, where his condition was stabilized, police said. The younger man was taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin, and was treated and released.
