Two people found shot after a traffic crash on Saturday in west suburban Addison have died, police said.

About 1 p.m., officers responded to a report of shots fired and a traffic crash at Denise Court and Elizabeth Drive, according to Addison police.

Inside a vehicle, officers found Kevin Bustos-Garcia, 17, and Alberto Rios, 20, suffering from gunshot wounds, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Bustos-Garcia was taken to Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Hoffman Estates, where he died at 2:17 p.m., according to the examiner’s office. He lived in Cortland.

Rios, of Villa Park, was also taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Investigators think they were targeted in the shooting, and do not believe there is a greater threat to the community, police said. Information about the circumstances of the shooting were not immediately released.

Anyone with information was asked to call detectives at (630) 543-3080.
