An 18-year-old man was shot in the head Monday night in the East Side neighborhood on the Far South Side.

He was sitting in a vehicle at 8:42 p.m. in the 10100 block of South Avenue N. when an unknown male approached and shot him, according to Chicago Police.

The man suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in serious condition, police said.
