SHARE 21-year-old man fatally shot in Austin

A 21-year-old man was shot to death Tuesday afternoon in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

About 4:40 p.m., Jesus Menviola was a passenger in a car in the 1800 block of North Luna when he got in an argument with someone who was on foot, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The person on foot took out a weapon and fired shots, striking Menviola in the head, authorities said.

Menviola, who lived in the Logan Square neighborhood, was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:41 p.m., according to the medical examiner’s office.
