One boy was critically wounded and another was injured Saturday afternoon in a South Side Englewood neighborhood shooting.

At 4:17 p.m., the boys, ages 15 and 16, were standing in the 5500 block of South Shields when the shooters walked up and opened fire, according to Chicago Police. The offenders then drove off in a silver car.

The younger boy was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the head, police said.

The older boy was shot in the left leg and taken by family to Comer Children’s Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
