A 17-year-old boy was seriously wounded in a shooting Friday evening in the West Side Austin neighborhood.

At 7:24 p.m., he was in the 4900 block of West Rice when a dark-colored sedan pulled up to him and someone inside fired shots, according to Chicago Police.

The boy was taken in serious condition to Mount Sinai Hospital with a gunshot wound to his abdomen, police said.
