A woman died Saturday afternoon after a two-vehicle crash in southwest suburban Orland Park.

A Ford Fusion was stopped at a red light at southbound La Grange Road and the exit ramp from eastbound I-80 at 1:18 p.m. Saturday. A Chevrolet Malibu that was also stopped at the red light suddenly moved forward and struck the back of the Fusion, according to Orland Park police.

The Malibu rolled over onto its roof and the driver, 27-year-old Brittney Devoe, was extricated, according to police. Several witnesses to the crash said Devoe was slumped over at the wheel.

Devoe, a Tinley Park resident, was taken to Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, where she died at 2:07 p.m, according to the Will County coroner’s office.

An autopsy Sunday did not reveal any injuries, according to the coroner’s office. Her death was not caused by the crash, and the final determination of cause is pending a toxicology report.

Police said there is no indication of criminal activity.
