A man was shot to death Monday evening in the South Chicago neighborhood.

Antone Jackson, 26, was arguing with someone about 6:30 p.m. in the 7900 block of South Ridgeland when the suspect took out a weapon and fired shots, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Jackson suffered a gunshot wound to the body and was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 7:27 p.m., authorities said. He lived in the same neighborhood as the shooting.

Police were speaking with a person of interest Monday night. Area South detectives were investigating.
