A person was found dead on the Montrose Dog Beach early Friday on the North Side.

A park district employee found the male about 3:30 a.m. on the shore in the dog-friendly area off the 500 block of West Montrose, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The male, whose name has not yet been released, was dead at the scene. The medical examiner’s office said he was 17, and police said he was 26.

An autopsy Saturday did not rule on his cause and manner of death pending a police report.

Area North detectives are investigating.
