A 23-year-old man was wounded in a drive-by shooting Wednesday afternoon in the West Chatham neighborhood on the South Side.

Someone shot the man from a white vehicle as he was walking about 4:35 p.m. in the 100 block of West 79th Street, according to Chicago Police.

He suffered a gunshot wound to the knee and was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said. His condition had stabilized.
