A 35-year-old man was shot early Friday in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

At 12:28 a.m., he was walking on the sidewalk in the 200 block of North Pulaski when he heard shots and felt pain, according to Chicago Police.

The man took himself to Loretto Hospital with a gunshot wound to the left hand, police said. His condition had stabilized.
