A man was wounded Saturday night in a West Englewood neighborhood shooting on the South Side.

The 20-year-old was shot in his left side and left arm at 7:47 p.m. in the 6700 block of South Ashland, Chicago Police said. The circumstances of the shooting were not immediately known.

He was taken to St. Bernard Hospital in serious condition, police said.

About 10 minutes earlier, a 29-year-old woman was wounded in a shooting a little over a mile away.
