One man was killed and another was injured in a shooting early Wednesday in the West Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side, police said.

They were standing in an alley at 12:26 a.m. in the 4000 block of West Lake when someone fired shots in their direction, according to Chicago Police.

Jerame E. Moore, 30, was shot in the head and pronounced dead at the scene at 12:50 a.m., according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He lived in the South Deering neighborhood on the Far South Side.

His body could be seen lying on the sidewalk under the Green Line tracks on Lake while people went in and out of a busy liquor store nearby on Pulaski.

A 37-year-old man also suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the side of his body and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
