A man was shot early Tuesday in the West Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

About 12:15 a.m., the 33-year-old was driving east in the 4400 block of West Jackson when he heard gunfire and realized he’d been shot in the groin, according to Chicago Police. The origin of the shots was not known.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
