A 22-year-old man was killed in a shooting late Wednesday in south suburban Riverdale.

Officers were called about shots fired at 11:24 p.m. near 141st and Dearborn, according to Riverdale police.

They arrived to find Devonte L. Jackson with multiple gunshot wounds in the first block of West 141st, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Jackson, who lived on the same block, was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:47 p.m. and his death was ruled a homicide.

Riverdale police and the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force are investigating.

The man was found unresponsive in an alley in the 10700 block of South Lowe Avenue, police said.
The man suffered head trauma and was pronounced dead at University of Chicago Medical Center, police said.
