A man was fatally struck by a CTA Orange Line train early Sunday on the South Side.

Brandon Vasquez, 23, was struck by the train about 5 a.m. near the Ashland station at 3011 S. Ashland Ave., according to Chicago Police.

Vasquez was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. An autopsy Monday did not rule on cause and manner of death, with results pending further studies.

It was not immediately known whether the incident was an accident or suicide as Area Central detectives conduct a death investigation.
