A 17-year-old boy was shot Sunday morning in the Humboldt Park neighborhood on the West Side.

Officers curbed a vehicle for a minor traffic violation in the 2900 block of West Chicago and discovered the boy in a passenger seat with a gunshot wound, according to Chicago Police. Officers were told an unknown male approached the vehicle about 11:45 p.m. in the 1000 block of North Kildare and opened fire.

The boy was taken to Stroger Hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg, police said. He was in good condition.
