Man shot in Sheridan Park

A man was shot early Sunday in the Sheridan Park neighborhood on the North Side.

The 26-year-old was shot in the leg at 4:41 a.m. in the 1200 block of West Leland, according to preliminary information from Chicago Police.

He later showed up at Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where his condition was stabilized, police said.

The man saw a woman trying to stab two people on a sidewalk in the 5200 block of North Sheridan Road when he intervened, police said. The two began fighting when she pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the chest.
The man, 26, was sitting in a car when someone opened fire, police said.
