A woman has been charged with fatally striking a motorcyclist who died a week later in southwest suburban Joliet.

Victoria L. Martin, 27, was pulling out of a Citgo  station at West Jefferson  and Oneill streets in Joliet at 8:50 p.m. July 30 when she struck her vehicle struck a motorcycle heading north, according to Joliet police and the Will County coroner’s office.

The motorcyclist, 38-year-old Rogers A. Phillips of Shorewood, was taken to Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, authorities said. He died at the hospital at 3:30 p.m. Monday.

Martin, a Racine, Wisconsin resident, was not injured in the crash, police said. She was charged with one felony count of driving on a suspended license and issued citations for driving an uninsured motor vehicle, failure to yield and operating a vehicle with suspended registration.

She was ordered held at the Will County Adult Detention Facility on a $57,500 bond, according to Will County sheriff’s records.
