A 20-year-old man was shot and critically wounded Wednesday night in the West Garfield Park neighborhood.

The man was shot in the chest at 8:34 p.m. in the 4400 block of West Jackson, according to Chicago Police. Details on the circumstances of the shooting were not immediately available.

He was taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.
