A man died Thursday afternoon after he was shot in south suburban Dolton.

Darius Douglas, 27, was sitting in a car with a female in the 15100 block of South Lincoln Avenue about 1:30 p.m. when at least one person walked up from behind the vehicle and fired inside, according to Dolton Police Chief Robert Collins Jr.

Douglas, a Hillside resident, was shot multiple times and pronounced dead at the scene, according to the medical examiner’s office.

The female in the car was not injured, Collins said.
