A motorcyclist was killed in a crash Thursday morning in north suburban Glencoe.

The body of 29-year-old George Berbedes was discovered by a pedestrian at 6:45 a.m. at Lake Cook and Sheridan roads, according to Glencoe police.

Berdebes, who lived in Bourbonnais, was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:08 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. An autopsy ruled his death an accident.

The crash is believed to have happened early Thursday, police said.

About 1:45 a.m., Berbedes was riding with a group of other motorcyclists north on Sheridan Road when a public safety officer tried to pull them over, police said. The motorcyclists sped up and refused to pull over.

The Glencoe Public Safety Department and the Major Crash Assistance Team are investigating.
