A man was seriously wounded in a drive-by shooting Friday afternoon in the South Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

The 36-year-old was standing on the sidewalk about 1:25 p.m. in the 4900 block of West Augusta when a white van pulled up and someone inside opened fire, striking him in the leg, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, police said.
