A 38-year-old man was shot in the leg Thursday afternoon in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side.

The man was walking about 2:15 p.m. in the 5400 block of South Winchester when two males walked up to him and fired shots, striking him in the left calf, according to Chicago Police.

He then ran to the 5400 block of South Damen, where he was taken in fair condition to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.

No one was in custody as Area Central detectives investigated.
