Charges are pending against 38-year-old man who was taken to a hospital after a rollover crash early Sunday in the Gresham neighborhood on the South Side.

The single-vehicle crash happened about 4:25 a.m. in the 7700 block of South Vincennes when the driver of a 2011 GMC Yukon lost control of the SUV and crashed into a utility police, according to Chicago Police.

The man was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious, according to Chicago Fire Media Affairs.

Police said he declined treatment at the hospital and was taken to the Gresham District police station, where he was in custody pending charges.
