Happy #BackToTheFutureDay!

It’s October 21, 2015. For movie fans, it’s officially “Back to the Future Day” as in the date traveled to by Marty McFly, Doc and Jennifer in the 1989 film “Back to the Future Part II.”

“Doc Brown” (Christopher Lloyd) issued his official “Back to the Future Day” message to the world via YouTube:

Or, as they proclaimed in the 1989 film:

Marty McFly: Where are we? When are we?

Doc: We’re descending toward Hill Valley, California, at 4:29 pm, on Wednesday, October 21st, 2015.

Marty McFly: 2015? You mean we’re in the future?

Jennifer: Future? Marty, what do you mean? How can we be in the future?

Marty McFly: Uh, Jennifer, um, I don’t know how to tell you this, but I… you’re in a time machine.

Jennifer: And this is the year ‘2015’?

Doc: October 21st, 2015.

And if you’re in the mood for a “Back to the Future” viewing party (and who isn’t?), Universal Home Video today released the 30th anniversary trilogy Blu-Ray and DVD box sets. All three films plus a bonus disc with two hours of extras about the Robert Zemeckis-directed, Steven Spielberg-produced films, which starred Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd and Lea Thompson.

Great Scott!
