A 28-year-old man was shot Monday evening in the Washington Heights neighborhood on the South Side.

At 5:16 p.m., he was sitting in a parked vehicle in the 9900 block of South Carpenter when he heard shots and felt pain, according to Chicago Police. He was shot in the back.

The man then drove to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was in serious condition, police said.
