A woman was stabbed during a sexual abuse attack Tuesday evening in the Brighton Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

The 24-year-old was walking down an alley just before 7 p.m. when someone walked up to her from behind in the 3000 block of West 36th Place, tried to sexually abuse her and stabbed her, according to Chicago Police.

She was stabbed in the lower back and upper thigh, police said. The woman was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she was listed in good condition.

The man, 39, was standing on a sidewalk in the 2000 block of West 36th Street about 10:30 p.m. when someone approached on a bike and opened fire, striking him in the chest, police said.
