Luis Arroyo Jr. is the Sun-Times’ endorsed candidate in the 8th district race for Cook County Board.

All candidates in the race for Cook County Board in the 8th District were invited to answer questions compiled by the Chicago Sun-Times Editorial Board on a range of issues effecting the county.

Arroyo, the incumbent, did not respond to our invitation to outline his positions on the issues. He faces Republican Walter Zarnecki in in the November general election.

Ahead of the historic 2018 elections, the Sun-Times is teaming up weekly with the Better Government Association, in print and online, to fact-check the truthfulness of the candidates. You can find all of the PolitiFact Illinois stories we’ve reported together here.
