Two people were wounded in a shooting early Saturday in southwest suburban Crestwood.

A 26-year-old man and 27-year-old woman were shot at 2:02 a.m. in a parking lot outside an apartment complex in the 13700 block of South Lamon, according to Crestwood police.

The man and woman had exited their vehicle and were walking to an apartment building when they heard gunshots, police said. The woman started running and was shot in the arm, while the man was shot in the stomach and leg.

The shooter was described as wearing a gray hoodie, police said. They left the apartment complex in an unknown type of vehicle.

Both the man and woman were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn for treatment, police said. Their conditions were not immediately known.

Authorities added that the scene was processed by Illinois State Police evidence technicians, and that evidence was recovered.

Anyone with more information on the shooting was asked to call Detective Commander Art Ronan at (708) 926-7233.
