A woman was found stabbed to death Tuesday night in the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side.

Officers responded to a call of a person down and found 57-year-old Ruby Humphrey with stab wounds to her head and neck at 11:11 p.m. in the 3100 block of West Taylor, according to Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Humphrey, who lived a few blocks away in the same neighborhood, was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

An autopsy found she died from multiple sharp force injuries, the medical examiner’s office said. Her dead was ruled a homicide.

Area North detectives were conducting a homicide investigation.
