Man, 62, missing from Austin for months may need medical help

A 62-year-old man who was reported missing over two months ago from the West Side Austin neighborhood may need medical attention.

Bobby Berry was last seen Oct. 10 in the 600 block of South Central, according to a community alert from Chicago police. Berry is described as a 5-foot-2, 115-pound black man with gray hair, brown eyes, a medium brown complexion and a surgical scar on one of his legs.

Berry frequently visits the area around Independence Boulevard and Roosevelt Road in the Lawndale neighborhood, police said.

In an alert issued Sunday afternoon, police announced that Berry had been located. A CPD spokeswoman said the alert was likely issued in error.

Anyone with information about Berry’s whereabouts should call Area Central detectives at (312) 747-8380.
