A teenager was killed in a crash early Monday in the Woodlawn neighborhood on the South Side.

At 12:43 a.m., 18-year-old Jordan E. Dixon was driving north in the 6600 block of Stony Island Avenue when he struck a tree, according to Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center and pronounced dead at 1:32 a.m.

Dixon lived in the Hyde Park neighborhood, the medical examiner’s office said. An autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday.

The cause of the crash was under investigation.
