A man was shot Wednesday afternoon in the South Chicago neighborhood on the South Side.

The 24-year-old was shot in the arm about 12:15 p.m. in the 8700 block of South Escanaba, according to Chicago police.

He showed up at Trinity Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.

Area South detectives were investigating.
