A man was found stabbed to death Friday morning following a crash in the Cragin neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

About 4:40 a.m, 30-year-old Damian Pagan Lebron was found with stab wounds to his neck and body after the vehicle he was riding in crashed in the 4800 block of West Diversey on the Northwest Side, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Lebron, who lived in the West Side Austin neighborhood, was pronounced dead at Illinois Masonic Medical Center at 5:20 a.m., the medical examiner’s office said.

It was not immediately known where the stabbing happened, police said.

The vehicle’s driver, 27-year-old Richard Eldefonso, was uncooperative with investigators and “combative” with medical personnel while he was being treated at the scene of the crash, police said.

Eldefonso was arrested and charged with two counts of misdemeanor battery for spitting at an officer and causing bodily harm to a security guard at Stroger Hospital, according to police.
