The Wheaton-Warrenville South vs. Naperville North rivalry rages on. The Huskies pulled off the win in double-overtime thanks to a big-time play from senior guard Jack Hill.
Naperville North big man Tom Welch didn’t hold back after the game. He doesn’t enjoy the Tigers’ style of basketball and he isn’t alone. WW South always gets the shot clock argument going.
Tonight’s top games
Bloom 69, Rich South 51: Donovan Newby posted 12 points and 13 assists. The Blazing Trojans have won five consecutive games. They are young and talented, it isn’t out of the realm of possibility they could make a playoff run. I’m going to check them out against Kankakee on Friday.
Kankakee 65, Rich East 48: The Kays are 18-5 this season. Lavale Hill scored 14. TJ Wicks and Jacquan Binion each scored 11.
St. Patrick 45, Notre Dame 44: The Shamrocks win the rivalry game.
Lindblom 69, Julian 67: Nice win for the Eagles. Jalen Carter scored 20 and sophomore Marshun Williams added 18.
Rochelle Zell 94, Manley 84: Grant Primer scored 35 points to lead Rochelle Zell into the regional finals.
Prospect 54, Barrington 44: The Knights win the MSL. David Swedura scored 19 and Tim Lussenhopp added 15.
Maine West 56, New Trier 52: Upset in the CSL title game. The Warriors were led by Milos Dugalic’s 23 points.
St. Charles East 55, Geneva 43: It’s been an up and down season for the Fighting Saints but they seem to be closing the regular season on a high note. Justin Hardy had 13 points, 13 rebounds and five assists.
Benet 43, Marian Catholic 34: I was following this one on Twitter, it appeared that the Redwings were in control the entire way. Benet might not be the No. 1 seed, but they are the favorites to win that sectional. Will Engels scored 13 and David Buh added 10.
Larkin 67, Batavia 65 3 OT: Anthony Lynch scored 21, his layup with 5 seconds left in the the third overtime gave the Royals the win. Larkin dropped out of the rankings after losing twice last week but the squad is still a major threat in the sectional.
