A 37-year-old man was shot early Saturday in the West Side Austin neighborhood.

The man was standing near a vehicle at 12:28 a.m. in the 5500 block of West Van Buren when he heard gunfire and realized he’d been shot in his right leg, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition, police said.

Area North detectives were investigating the shooting.
