A man was shot and critically wounded Saturday afternoon in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side.

The 32-year-old suffered a gunshot wound to the chest about 4:30 p.m. in the 2100 block of West 52nd Street, according to Chicago Police. The circumstances of the shooting weren’t immediately known

The man showed up at Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, police said.

Area Central detectives were investigating the shooting.
