Oakland University in Michigan is getting a taste of what a Simeon product can do for their basketball program this season as Kendrick Nunn is averaging 26.4 points a game.

Coach Greg Kampe wanted another Simeon player, and he nabbed one Monday night as Wolverines senior Kenny Pittman committed to the Grizzlies. Pittman, one of the better perimeter shooters in the city, has been a key player for the state’s No. 1 ranked team.

While on his visit to Oakland this past weekend, Pittman said he saw and felt similarities to the Simeon program.

“I liked how their team bonded and how it was like a family there,” Pittman said. “It’s just like it is at Simeon.”

Pittman listened to all that Nunn had to say during the recruiting process and was also able to squeeze in a workout and get some shots up with the former Simeon star.

“He answered most of the questions I had without me even asking,” says Pittman. “He knew what I would need to know.”
