A man suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound Wednesday morning in the Hegewisch neighborhood on the Far South Side.

The 27-year-old man shot himself in the leg about 3:50 a.m. in the 13200 block of South Muskegan, according to Chicago Police.

The man was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition stabilized, police said.
