The Washington Street bridge over the Chicago River closes Friday morning for testing, the Chicago Department of Transportation said.

The bridge closes between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., CDOT said.

Motorists were advised to use the Monroe Street bridge as a detour over the river.
